application: Victorian ballroom dance
Victorian Ballgown
A complete Victorian dancing ensemble in a rich red-shot-with-green silk that appears nutmeg brown from a distance, with hat, shawl, reticule, and matching doll. This bodice features hand smocking, a time-consuming yet extraordinary detail. The outfit is embellished with hand-formed silk roses. Both gown and doll were modified and updated for use in the role of Queen Victoria at the Dickens Christmas Fair.
